Eligibility Statement: DoD Personnel & families - including military members, all Service & Guard, Reserve, military retirees, DoD civilians, NAF personnel & immediate family members. Other uniformed services include US Coast Guard, National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, uniformed State Department personnel, Public Health Service personnel & members of units assigned or attached to a US installation.

Scott AFB Newcomers Orientation is offered every other Tuesday, 0730 – 1200.


  • Attendees should plan to arrive between 0700 – 0715 to sign in and complete initial paperwork. Medical or dental records will be collected and your TRICARE/Medical registration will be completed.
  • Members will receive a welcome from base leadership and informational briefings to orient them to the base and local area.
  • Civilian employees may be released just before the TRICARE briefing, however those that are TRICARE eligible (retired active duty, military spouses, etc) are welcome to stay for this informational briefing.
  • Air Force members are briefed on the PCS In-Processing System (PIPS), the online travel voucher filing system. All other military members will be excused.
  • Spouses are welcome to attend with members.
