The Air Force Aid Society supports the Air Force mission by providing worldwide emergency assistance, sponsoring education assistance programs and offering an array of base community enhancement programs that improve quality of life for Airmen and their families.
Air Force Aid Society emergency assistance is available to Airmen and their eligible family members to meet immediate needs in an emergency situation. The society provides interest free loans and grants based on the individual situation for needs such as:
Basic Living Costs |
Emergency Travel |
Vehicle Repair & Payment |
|
Funeral Expenses |
Medical/Dental |
Child Care/Respite |
|
Moving Costs |
Utilities |
Miscellaneous Expenses |
|
The Falcon Loan is a loan for up to $1000 that can be used for emergency needs. Applying for a Falcon Loan is easy: The streamlined application process for a Falcon Loan requires no budget information, backup documentation, or First Sergeant/Commander approval.
AFAS maintains a cross-servicing agreement with emergency relief organizations of the Army, Coast Guard and Navy/Marine Corps so Air Force people can request help through those offices when no AF facility is relatively close to the member/family.
This same servicing agreement allows for all sister services to receive emergency assistance support at the Scott AFB Airman & Family Readiness Center. Local Red Cross offices will also provide assistance when there is no military base or post nearby and then will be reimbursed by HQ AFAS.
